We currently have a number of vacancies – Advice Link Worker, Senior Debt Caseworker, Debt Supervisor and Trainee Advisers (Kickstart scheme)

Advice Link Worker

37 hours per week  

£21,495 

Location: Nottingham City, GPs’ surgeries and locations in Gedling Borough  

We are looking for an Advice Link Worker to join our General Advice Team to deliver advice sessions at GP’s surgeries and community locations in Gedling Borough to provide holistic advice and support to clients by understanding their individual needs and where relevant referring them to: 

  • other specialist teams within the local Citizens Advice,   
  • external agencies and local community groups. 

Please note that during the coronavirus lockdown this service is provided by telephone only, and successful candidates will initially work from home (IT kit will be provided) with gradual return to the office and outreach in line with lifting of restrictions. 

You will be able to demonstrate: 

  • Recent advice work experience (in welfare benefits, housing and employment) preferably in a Local Citizens Advice.  
  • Ability to work independently.  
  • Excellent communication skills

Senior Debt caseworker 

£23,995 – 37 hours per week  

(pro rata for part time) 

We are looking for an experienced debt caseworker for our debt casework service Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the provision of free, independent, impartial and confidential advice and they have minimum of one year full time (or part time equivalent) experience in debt advice and casework together with the ability to work under pressure and deliver services which meet:  

  • quality standards  
  • targets (KPIs)   

Previous experience of supporting other staff is desirable.

Debt Supervisor 

30 hours per week  

£23,806 (actual) 

We are looking for an experienced supervisor for our debt casework service. Extensive experience of debt advice together with the ability to work under pressure, deliver services which meet:  

  • quality standards  
  • targets (KPIs)   

are essential personal requirements for this role. 

Previous experience of managing people is desirable. 

Together with the other supervisors, you will be responsible for supervising a team of debt caseworkers and admin staff, responding to emerging issues and be a spokesperson for the organisation on debt related issues.   

You will have the confidence and ability to inspire and motivate people and understand the importance of customer-focussed collaboration.

Kickstart vacancies

Following a grant from the government funded Kickstart project, Citizens Advice Nottingham are looking to recruit individuals aged 16 – 24 years of age who are currently out of work claiming Universal Credit and are at risk of long-term unemployment.

The Kickstart scheme offers six-month work placements, working 25 hours per week, receiving National Minimum Wage.  Your time will be spent in the workplace with in-work training to gain valuable experience and develop transferable skills.

There are currently three trainee Adviser vacancies available.  The IT Support Worker post has been filled.
