Job title:     Debt Caseworker

Hours:        Full and part time posts available – Full time 37 hrs pw.  Part time hours to be agreed (minimum 21 hrs pw)

Salary:        £21,495 – £23,995 depending on experience (pro rata for part time) 


Citizens Advice Nottingham & District are looking for full/part-time Debt Caseworkers to join our dedicated debt casework team. We are committed to providing support to clients within our community and to making a genuine difference to their quality of life and to improving their financial stability.

In the year 2019/20 we helped 12,977 people.  We handled £9.6m of debt and raised £8.7m in income for our clients. 

We are a large local Citizens Advice with 45 paid staff and 53 volunteers and we cover the area of Nottingham City, Gedling and Rushcliffe Boroughs.

Where possible Citizens Advice Nottingham & District offers flexible working and these roles will be a combination of home and office-based working (the balance of which is open to negotiation).

Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with an ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision. They will be organised, self-motivated and have a minimum of 6 months’ experience of delivering debt advice casework in an advice agency.

Kickstart vacancies


Following a grant from the government funded Kickstart project, Citizens Advice Nottingham are looking to recruit individuals aged 16 – 24 years of age who are currently out of work claiming Universal Credit and are at risk of long-term unemployment.

The Kickstart scheme offers six-month work placements, working 25 hours per week, receiving National Minimum Wage.  Your time will be spent in the workplace with in-work training to gain valuable experience and develop transferable skills.
